- 4 1/2 cups sugar
- 1 box Sure-Jell
- 1 tsp butter
Instructions
- Gather your tools: a large pot, strainer, ladle, funnel, and canning jars with lids.
- Wash and inspect the blackberries carefully to remove any debris.
- In a large pot, cook the blackberries on medium heat with a small amount of water for about 15 minutes until softened.
- Strain the mixture using a tight-knit strainer to extract approximately 3 3/4 cups of juice.
- Return the juice to the pot and add the box of Sure-Jell and butter.
- Bring to a full rolling boil while stirring continuously. Add sugar all at once and boil for another minute while stirring constantly.
- Remove from heat and fill jars using a ladle and funnel, then seal with lids.
- Process jars in a water bath for 10 minutes or let them seal naturally.
