  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 carrots, julienned or thinly sliced
  • 2 bell peppers, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup cooked rice, for serving
  • 2 scallions, thinly sliced, for garnish
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, rice vinegar, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes.
  2. Marinate the sliced beef in the mixture for at least 30 minutes (up to 2 hours for deeper flavor).
  3. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and cook the marinated beef until browned (about 5-7 minutes). Set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, sauté onions and carrots until softened (3-5 minutes), then add bell peppers and cook until slightly tender (2-3 minutes).
  5. Return the beef to the skillet and mix well. Heat through for another minute.
  6. Serve over cooked rice, garnished with scallions and sesame seeds.
