  • 1 cup sugar
  • Zest of 2 lemons
  • 1 1/2 cups lemon juice (about 8 lemons)
  • 2 cups ice cubes

Instructions

  1. Prepare the sugar syrup by combining 3 cups of water and 1 cup of sugar in a saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium heat and stir until the sugar dissolves completely (about 5 minutes). Remove from heat.
  2. Add lemon zest to the hot sugar mixture and let it sit for 5 minutes to infuse flavor. Cool in the fridge if desired.
  3. In a large pitcher, mix together lemon juice and remaining water (5 cups). Strain cooled syrup into the pitcher to remove zest.
